Popular Taiwanese musician Jay Chou and Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant unveiled their duet "The Heaven and Earth Challenge" during a press conference prior to the NBA All-Star Game at Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 20. This song, which also comes with a behind-the-scenes music video, is featured in a commercial that Jay Chou and the NBA All-Star MVP Bryant did together for China Sprite. Both projects promote youth creativity, as well as an upcoming slam-dunk competition in China.
According to China Daily, Director of Integrated Marketing Solutions of Coca-Cola Greater China Andres Kiger Sr stated, "This song not only represents the perfect blend of basketball and music by two of the world's greatest talents but it is also our hope that it will spark creative basketball expression that ripples across the world. I am sure that people will love this song."
All revenues of the online ringtone downloads will be donated to a charity improving the basketball facilities in China's Hope Project schools.
"The Heaven and Earth Challenge" is composed by Jay Chou, with lyrics by Huang Jun Lang.
