This past Tuesday, September 28, Korean American singer, YouTube sensation, and Los Angeles native, Clara Chung, released her first official music video online. The song, entitled “Offbeat,” is one of Chung’s own and has appeared multiple times on the web, as many fans have posted live performances and have even attempted to make covers of the song. The director of the music video, Ross Ching, is yet another young Asian American rising in popularity and has worked with other artists including Death Cab for Cutie. The video itself perfectly encompasses the song as well as Clara herself, through bright, natural settings and scenes of her being the fun, bubbly personality that she is.
Clara Chung was not always looking to score in the music industry. It was her friends and family who initially encouraged her to display her work for all to see. Chung began performing in gigs and competitions and she is Kollaboration’s most recent winner.
Not only has Chung’s “Offbeat” music video received a great response with already well over 50,000 views on YouTube, but her debut album The Art In My Heart, which dropped last Friday, September 24th is also becoming a hit.
Keep up with the latest news on Clara Chung on her Twitter and her YouTube channel.
