Zhou Xun to become the Chinese ambassador for Chanel
The Chinese star has been officially announced as the ambassador for the renowned French brand Chanel.

Well-known Chinese actress Zhou Xun was recently formally announced as a new ambassador for Chanel. Chanel chief designer Karl Lagerfield noted Zhou Xun for her strong fashion sense, describing the actress as "a synthesis of young Coco Chanel and Ballet Troupe Zizi Jeanmaire."
Over the years, the actress has made appearances at numerous Chanel events. Xun attended events as early as in 2007, for the Spring-Summer Paris Fashion Week Haute. In July 2009 she attended the Chanel Autumn and Winter handbag conference in Paris and the High Hand Workshop "Paris-Shanghai" conference by the Huangpu River. In a dinner after the conference, Zhou Xun sang "Evening Primrose" and dedicated it to Lagerfeld.
Throughout the years, Zhou Xun has gained recognition through her roles in Lou Ye's Suzhou River, Dai Sijie's Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, and more recently, Chen Kuo-fu and Gao Qunshu's The Message. She also hold another ambassador title: in 2008, she was appointed National Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme.
